Welcome to the home of The J.T. Burger Mind-Body-Soul Series.
J.T. Burger
These books trace the personal principles behind my major health transformation, but let’s be real: I am not a weight-loss guru. While I hold a graduate certificate in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), I do not have a clinical therapy license, and I do not provide therapy. No couches or inkblots here!
Instead, think of me as a life coach who uses practical behavioral tools, personal experience, and a healthy dose of light humor to help people better understand their minds, habits, fears, and choices.
My own journey took me from 436 pounds and a diagnosis of prediabetes to losing 186 pounds through gradual lifestyle changes, persistence, and the support of people who cared enough to encourage me. That transformation taught me that changing the body is only one part of changing a life.
My true passion is helping people work through the genuinely heavy stuff—paralyzing fears about the future, severe OCD, stage anxiety, grief, and the personal struggles that can make taking the next step feel impossible.
Along the way, my study of Polynesian wisdom has also shaped the way I think about community, gratitude, nature, relationships, and the connection between mind, body, and soul.
Grab a book or two, dive in, and see how I think. If what you read speaks to you and you want personalized encouragement and practical guidance beyond the page, give me a call to book a private hourly coaching session.
Let’s figure it out together, and we may even laugh along the way.

SIMPLE STEPS COLLECTIVE WINS
What if changing your life began with one small step, and someone who believed you could take it?
At 436 pounds and facing prediabetes, J.T. Burger knew his health was moving in the wrong direction. Then a friend’s simple but powerful words forced him to confront what his life had become.
That moment became the beginning of an extraordinary 186-pound transformation.
About The Author
J.T. Burger
I am an author, hiker, spiritual advisor, life coach, and student of Polynesian wisdom with a deep interest in how our habits, thoughts, relationships, health, and sense of purpose shape the lives we build.
My journey toward change became deeply personal when I found myself weighing 436 pounds and facing prediabetes. With encouragement from a friend and a willingness to start making manageable changes, I eventually lost 186 pounds.
But what began as a physical transformation soon became something much bigger.
It pushed me to explore behavior, motivation, human connection, spiritual well-being, and the importance of taking small but meaningful steps forward. Today, those experiences form the foundation of my books and the way I approach life coaching.
I do not promise perfection or overnight transformation. I believe real change starts where you are, and grows from there.

MIND BODY SOUL CONNECTION
What happens when your body begins to change, but you realize wellness is about much more than physical health?
In Mind Body Soul Connection, J.T. Burger takes the conversation beyond weight loss to explore the deeper relationship between the mind, physical well-being, human connection, and spiritual purpose.
Building on the transformation explored in his first book, Burger examines motivation, movement, nutrition, self-confidence, behavior, relationships, nature, and the search for greater meaning.
